After having trained many motor vehicle experts thoroughly in a field that is completely new to them to date, the experts intend to address employees of the cycle and insurance industry with their extended and refined programme from autumn 2023 on.
Managing director Dirk Zedler is happy about the training programme sharpened to the needs of the industry: “After 30 years as bicycle and e-bike experts time has come to share our knowledge with further target groups and in particular with colleagues from the cycle industry. The preparation of expert’s reports has to be decentralised. We can avoid these regrettable accidents with bicycles and e-bikes only to a limited degree, but we should work together that at least the financial loss of the cyclists is settled as quickly as possible. This is realized by means of appropriate and professional expert's reports as a basis for settlement for the insurers. For us, this is also an important element for bicycles and e-bikes to ‘grow up’ as a form of mobility.”
The experts of the expert’s reports department will convey the complex topics in a permanent alternation of theory and practice. That's what the feedback of the participants of the training courses to date reportedly show: “For all those who are active in this field or want to become active, there is in my opinion, no other institution that has this wealth of experience. Another great advantage is of course the duration and the experience which is bundled here”, states e.g. the participant M. Gauß, from Velologe GmbH, Nagold.
Number of accidents and amounts of loss are rising
According to the Federal Office of Statistics in Germany (Statistisches Bundesamt), the number of accidents involving personal injury came to all in all 91,126 accidents (73,167/17,959 – bicycle/e-bike) in 2021. In 2022, this figure raised to 106,457 accidents (82,453/24,004 – bicycle/e-bike). As a result, both the number of claims and the amounts of loss have risen significantly.
